I have a warehouse, shop and gallery on the east side of Houston. Mosquito central. We have events in the evenings and my metal shop – in the back – has a large opening. We get a lot of mosquitos. I have tried the cheap Black Flag propane fogger to some success but was thinking I needed more firepower. I also need some reasonably safe way to knock them down or repel them indoors. A lot of rain has us being chewed up.
What suggestions do you have? Thought I’d give a heads up before I called and ordered. Thanks, BB
You didn’t say how big this area is but I’m guessing the FM6208, FM6309 or our Back Pack Mister will do the job fine. The unit you have is simply not powerful enough nor is it economical to use since they require you to pump an expensive “pre mix” through it. This can be avoided using one the following machines and some of our concentrates.
And for inside areas, get a few Aerosol machines set up with Metered Insecticide. These can be installed most anywhere and programmed to release the same active (pyrethrin) which will control any kind of biting pest like mosquitoes, gnats, etc.
Give us a call if you need more of an explanation or email us any questions. But this problem can be controlled with the right mix of equipment and chemicals and I’m sure we can help you reach that goal.
Give us a call if you need more help. Our toll free is 1-800-877-7290 and we’re open 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mon-Thur; 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Friday and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, Eastern Standard Time.

I have a 2000 sq ft lawn close to a swimming pool. This year I have had hundreds (maybe thousands) of pill bugs in the pool. Also I have large areas of my lawn dying. Can pill bugs kill the grass? If so what would be the best treatment? I have dogs that use the lawn!
No doubt pillbugs will feed on plants and plant roots which can lead to plant death. And they will commonly infest lawns so dying grass is definitely a sign they are nesting in your turf.
The good news is that we have a couple of products which are easy to apply and quite effective. And when used properly, will pose no hazard to you or your pets. In fact we have short “safety video’s” for each which you should view. These videos are located on respective product pages and cover all the “how to safely” use questions commonly asked regarding our products.
So to control this pest, you’ll first need to apply Bifen Granules to the grass, all flower beds and any pine mulch areas on the property. Next, spray over the top with Bifen XTS using a Garden Hose Sprayer.
The granules will provide long term control by slowing releasing into the soil. The Bifen XTS will provide quick control since its a liquid. When used together, these two products will do a good job controlling most any insect that might be causing your grass to die. And after 2-3 treatments, the problem should be gone.
