DIRECTIONS:  Filling port is located at the back of the tank; remove to fill with water and chemical. Flow Rate is made by adjusting the brass valve located on the top of the tank up front. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:     This is a gas powered thermal or “hot” fogger which means it will heat oil or water based fogging solutions enough to convert them into a fog. This fog is then distributed over the landscape or in warehouses intending to control a range of insects.

This mist is light – almost smoke like – and will stay suspended longer than cold space sprays. Since particle size is small, the fog can cover large areas better due to deep penetration and longer hang time.

This unit is electric start (requires no pumping; completely automatic), gasoline powered and fairly easy to maneuver.

WHERE TO USE IT: Outside around the home, farm, picnic grounds, camp areas, dumps, tire recyclers, gardens or just about anywhere noseeums are active and the need for a large fogging machine is required. Can also be used inside warehouses, commercial food processing plants, stables and more.

RATE OF APPLICATION:   This will vary depending on what you’re fogging, where you’re fogging, etc. In general, give us a call for consultation when treating warehouses or other commercial locations. For land owners, thermal foggers can handle several acres efficiently but again, give us a call so we can best outfit you based on your target insect, the area you want to treat, etc.  Keep in mind the rate of flow for this machine is up to 5 gallons per hour when fogging with DEODORIZED OIL as the carrier. When using water, you will have a maximum output of just 2.5 gallons per hour since water based formulations take a lot more time and power to convert over to ULV.

TECHNICAL SPECS:  The droplet size in the fog will range from .5-50 microns. The flow rate takes about 12 minutes per gallon when using oil as the carrier but 25 minutes per gallon when using water as the carrier.

BLACKHAWK THERMAL FOGGER

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:   The Blackhawk Thermal Fogger is truck mountable, thermal (HOT) fogger which uses an electric start gas powered “pulse jet” engine for power. This motor is quite powerful packing 44 HP which can pump up to 18 gallons an hour. There is a “remote control” switch used to activate flow from your drivers seat so you can turn the mist on/off as you drive. The electric start can be powered by D cell batteries (8 batteries needed) or any onboard 12 volt starter battery found on most any vehicle.

The Blackhawk formulation tank can hold 3 gallons of any oil based mixture (you must use a DEOBASE formulation for this model – water only model available by special order) and the gas tank can hold up to 64 oz. Fuel consumption will average just over a tank per hour (about .6 gallons per hour); the fuel tank holds .5 gallons of gas.

Built around a high strength, welded steel frame, this unit weighs 41 lbs (with empty tanks) and around 75 lbs (with full tanks). The unit measures approximately 19″ wide, 71″ long and 20″ tall.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:   A super refined high quality deodorized oil well suited for both inside and outside ULV applications. Rated better than #1 fuel oil, this deodorized base oil can be used in warehouses, food processing facilities, packaging plants and more. When you need a super clean, dry fog, this is the best quality option available.

When considering which oil to use in either a cold and hot fogging machine, its important to understand the difference. Low grade oils like #2 and #3 diesel fuel should not be used since these forms are inconsistent and can easily interfere with the active chemicals being applied. They can pose a hazard to the landscape, should not be used inside structures and overall not recommended as they can alter the chemicals you add by making them useless. This is largely due to the inconsistencies with low grade fuel oils.

For our line of Curtis Dynafog thermal fogging machines, using a high grade mineral oil or this #1 fuel oil is best. It won’t clog formulation lines, filters or holding tanks. And it won’t contaminate water, landscaping or machinery. Since its clean and odorless, our oil is the best option for any environment.

This oil is also well suited for use in homes, museums and other “sensitive” environments where one needs to be extra careful to not over apply treatments with residue. Compared to using water, this carrier will be near invisible when fogging and won’t make surfaces wet when used properly. And you can use it in any of our cold fogging machines like the MINI FOGGER, the FM6309, the FM6208 and the FM7401.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:  These are aerosol products which are used by turning them “on” and then leaving the room being treated while the aerosol can totally release. The “release” will usually take 1-2 minutes and then the treated room should be left unoccupied for at least 4 hours following the treatment.

Either can will treat up to 6,000 cubic feet. That’s an area 30 long by 25 feet wide by 8 feet high.

COMPARISON:  The Pro Control Fogger uses a .535% Pyrethrin as its main active ingredient and is labeled for use in commercial establishments like restaurants. It provides no residual.

The Indoor Fogger uses a .4% Permethrin and a .05% Pyrethrin combination so in fact it will provide a good 2 weeks of residual.

From a cost point of view, the Indoor Fogger is the better value because it costs less, will cover just as much of an area, work on the same insect pests and provide a lasting residual.

For food preparation treatments like commercial restaurants and food processing plants, the Pro Control with pyrethrin is the best option since its labeled for use in these sensitive areas.
